Victory 6

The fight card for Victory 6 is complete, with seven A-class Muay Thai bouts set to be broadcast live on Saturday, 22nd May.

Following the announcement of the main event between Nico Carrillo and Craig Coakley, six more top-class contents have been booked, featuring some of the best competitors in the UK. The co-main event will feature two of the top 10 athletes in the Thai Fighter UK rankings as Joe Craven battles George Jarvis.

Craven, who fights out of Leeds’ Bad Company gym, has risen to the #2 spot in one of the sport’s most competitive divisions thanks to signature wins over world-renowned opponents including Jake Purdy and Chris Shaw. With standout performances in major promotions including Lion Fight and MTGP, Jarvis has emerged as one of the most exciting young competitors in the country. Now, the Lumpini Crawley product has the chance to claim the biggest win of his career.

Victory matchmaker, Craig Jose says: “This is a fight everyone wants to see. It’s a fight that’s been in the works from before COVID and now we finally get to see these two men go at it. Joe has been UK #1 and fought at a high level for a while, but George is a very classy opponent. He’s up-and-coming, and has had some good wins in Lion Fight. You could say Joe is better in the clinch, but maybe Geroge is sharper on the outside. It’s an impossible fight to call, but it should be a great match. This could have easily been the main event.”

Also on the card, ONE Championship’s Juan Cervantes will make his return to Victory against Joe Boobyer. Cervantes is a WTKA world champion and ranked as the number one cruiserweight in the world by WBC, but COVID travel restrictions have stopped him from fighting on the world’s biggest stages over the past 18 months.

However, he will finally get the chance to bring his high-flying, all-action style to the ring again against Boobyer – another WBC world-ranked athlete with a WMF world title to his name. “The quality of these two fighters guarantees fireworks,” says Sergio Redrado, Victory matchmaker. We know all about Juan and the technical fighter that he is, but he’s got a tough challenge here moving up in weight to make his comeback. Joe is not as well known here in the UK, but he is a great fighter with a ton of experience in Thailand and good promotions. He’ll make this a good, heavy-hitting clash.”

Also on the card, the experienced Andy Turland will fight Jason O’Hara, a talented rising star who can prove he is ready to move to the next level of his career if he can get his hand raised. There will be a true clash of striking styles when Kyle Todd faces Josh Hill. Todd has more than 40 wins to his name, but mostly competes as a kickboxer. Hill is a Muay Thai through and through and is sure to give his rival a big challenge.

Jake Thirlaway is undefeated since his transition to Muay Thai from full-contact kickboxing, but the Northern Kings representative will be put to the test like never before in his first A-class fight. His opponent, Mateusz Suwatha from Hanuman Thai Boxing Club, will aim to give him a rude welcome to the elite level. Finally, the show will open with Paul Morris vs Matyas Escedi. Morris is still just a teenager, but has a ton of junior experience and huge potential. However, he will have his hands full against a seasoned opponent from Bad Company gym.

Victory 6 will be the first of two pay-per-view events set to take place across one weekend. Victory 7 will follow on Sunday, 23rd May, featuring Jack Kennedy vs Mo Abdurahman – a highly-anticipated main-event match that will see two of the country’s best and most exciting fighters go toe-to-toe.
